Servo-electric drives and a wide range of sensors and actuators offer new solutions for complex problems.
Your benefitsWith the new control concept, we are able to implement complex motion sequences within the injection mould. The injection mould, sensors and actuators are all configured according to customer requirements.
The injection moulding machine program controls the overall process. Actions in the mould are triggered by signals such as "Mould in intermediate position" or "Core pull 1 extended". Where necessary, the mould control also provides the interface to peripherals such as handling systems or sprue pickers. This allows more complex processes for inserts, for example. The operator of the injection moulding machine experiences no changes to the usual process.
Thanks to additional actuators and sensors linked to the central control system, previously unthinkable processes are now feasible. In addition to movements independent of the mould opening, extra signals can be evaluated and data recorded. Even assembly processes within the mould are possible.
Servo-electric drives are becoming increasingly important in plastic injection moulding. Compared to hydraulic drives, they are cleaner, quieter and require less maintenance. Servo axes offer high precision without the need for mechanical stops.
Clearly defined movements with tool-friendly cycles are no problem. Additional hydraulic units in all-electric injection moulding machines can be eliminated. Oil leaks and contamination are prevented.
On the main control interface, the operator can switch the mould control to automatic mode. As soon as the injection moulding machine starts, the two control systems begin working in tandem. In addition to operating directly via the touch panel, remote operation is also possible. This makes visualisation on any smartphone or tablet a breeze.
In the setup menu, each axis and all positions can be freely named and saved with a position value and, if needed, a pressing force. The sequence within the mould can also be customised. Signals from the injection moulding machine or other sensors and actuators can be queried as transition conditions. The injection program continues to act as the master.
Recipes for different moulds or process sequences can be created and loaded as needed. This allows multiple moulds to be controlled with one system.
In a complete project (injection mould with control system), we handle all configuration work for the entire mould. If only the control system is requested, the interface is the motor axis. Based on the motion profile and the required force on the motor axis, we determine the components to be used.
